10 Questions to Ask Before You Hire a Bathroom Remodeler
What to ask any bath or shower company before you sign: who does the work, what's included, how long it takes, the warranty and more.

Picking the company that will tear out your shower or tub is a bigger decision than picking the color of the walls. A good installer finishes on schedule, leaves a clean house and stands behind the work. A bad one leaves you with leaks behind the wall. These ten questions will help you compare any bathroom remodeler, including us.
1. Do you specialize in bathrooms?
A company that does showers and tubs every day has the process, the products and the crews dialed in. A general contractor who does a bathroom now and then may be fine, but ask how many bath projects they finish in a typical month.
2. Who will actually be in my home?
Ask whether the installers are the company's own crew or subcontractors, who the lead installer is, and who you call if something comes up on install day.
3. Are you licensed and insured?
In Pennsylvania, home improvement contractors must register with the Attorney General's office and show a registration number on contracts and ads. Ask for it, and ask for proof of insurance.
4. What exactly is included in the price?
Removal and haul-away, the new base or tub, the walls, the fixtures, the door, permits if needed and clean-up should all be on paper. Get one written price before anything is ordered so there are no surprise add-ons.
5. What happens if you find damage behind the wall?
Rot, mold or soft subfloor sometimes shows up once the old tub comes out. A good company tells you up front how that's handled and priced, and doesn't start the repair without your OK.
6. How long will my bathroom be out of service?
Pre-measured shower and tub systems are usually installed in 1–2 days on site. Custom tile jobs can take a week or more. Ask for a realistic timeline for your specific project.
7. What products do you use?
Ask what the walls and base are made of, how they're sealed, and how they're cleaned. Ask to see samples in your own bathroom's light before you choose.
8. What's the warranty, and is it in writing?
There are usually two: the manufacturer's warranty on the products and the installer's warranty on the workmanship. Both should be written into your proposal.
9. Can I see your work and read your reviews?
Look for before-and-after photos and reviews from homeowners near you, and ask how the company handled a job that didn't go perfectly.
10. How do I pay?
Ask about the deposit, when the balance is due and whether financing is available. We offer monthly payment options through our lending partners, subject to approval.
