What Affects the Price of a Shower Remodel?
The size of the space, the product you choose, the condition behind the walls, add-ons and plumbing changes: the real factors behind a shower quote.

Two shower projects that look alike can be priced very differently. That's not a trick; it comes down to a handful of real factors. Knowing them helps you compare quotes and decide where to spend.
1. The Size and Shape of the Space
A standard 5-foot alcove is the simplest. Corner showers, extra-wide openings and odd angles take more material and more labor.
2. Tub-to-Shower or Shower-to-Shower
Replacing a shower with a shower in the same spot is usually simpler than converting a tub, which can mean moving the drain and adjusting the valve height.
3. The Wall and Base System
Grout-free panel systems, custom tile and different base materials all carry different costs. Patterns, textures and premium finishes add to the price; a smooth white wall is the most economical.
4. What's Behind the Old Shower
Water damage, soft subfloor or mold behind the wall has to be fixed before new walls go up. A good installer tells you how hidden repairs are handled before work starts.
5. Doors, Fixtures and Add-Ons
A glass door versus a curtain rod, a basic valve versus a thermostatic one, a handheld shower, a seat, grab bars, niches and shelves all change the total. Add the ones you'll use every day; skip the rest.
6. Plumbing Changes
Keeping the drain and valve where they are is the most affordable choice. Moving them adds labor.
How to Compare Quotes
Make sure every quote includes removal, haul-away, the base, walls, fixtures, door and clean-up, and that the warranty is in writing. One clear written price beats a low number with add-ons later. Financing is available through our lending partners, subject to approval.
